Coaching

It is the process which aim is to support professional development and career management of a given person through discovering and supporting his potential. It is the method that enables personal development through desired competences improvement and skills connected with the business and interpersonal relations.

Coaching is realized through a series of meetings between a Client and a coach. During such meetings, they work together on goals and constructive solutions connected with professional and personal functioning of an individual.

Coach does not impose his knowledge on the Client. Through conversation, properly stated questions, analysis of situations and past experiences that is done together with the Client, his coach  brings/leads to the situation when the Client finds answers on his own. These answers bring him closer to the set goal.

Goals of coaching activities
  • Diagnosis of potential of a given person in the context of goals and missions of organization,
  • Building internal motivation for a change of ineffective behavior and for overcoming one’s own limitations in the improvement of professional and managerial competences,
  • Heightening effectiveness of action through the influence on a better understanding of tasks and conscious usage of predispositions, acquired knowledge and qualifications.

Benefits from coaching for organization:
  • Strengthening of a given organization through development of leaders and managers,
  • Heightening of effectiveness of individual employees by improving their involvement in work for the organization,
  • Bigger awareness of goals and values among company’s employees,
  • Making team work more effective and lowering the rotation of employees

GiP Consulting offers coaching conducted by the certified coach ICC. Basing on ICC definition “coaching is the process of improving competences in the field that the client would like to develop. It the process based on mutual trust and a relation of partnership. It helps people in becoming who they would like to be and be the best possible. Thanks to a well thought out, refined and consistent method of work with the client, coaching becomes a very effective way of supporting development and goal realization, set by the client on his own. Additionally, according to ICC , despite some of its unpredictability of the process, coaching possesses some clear algorithm of conduct, that helps coach in his work and increases the effectiveness of intervention radically.

Mentoring

Similarly to coaching, the process of mentoring is the method of human resources development. It consists of accompanying an employee in his search for development through the process of learning. A  mentor is a guardian who gives advices and support, when asked for. He also brings closer the possibility of widening knowledge when it is a right moment for that.
Mentoring is a broader field than coaching. Coaching is in fact a small subset of mentoring. The difference between mentoring and coaching can be summed up as follows: coaching concerns the work of a given individual, whereas mentoring concerns the whole professional development of this individual. Contrary to coaching that supports looking for one’s own solutions, mentoring often provides tips and advices.

Benefits from mentoring:
  • Human Resources are being developed,
  • Rotation of employees gets smaller,
  • It influences the level of satisfaction, adds to the specific bound between the employer and the employee whose work is appreciated.
  • It helps in transfer of knowledge between employees with various experiences.

Who should have his own mentor ?
  • People who have just got promotion in the company,
  • People who have changed departments or have just joined the company,
  • People on managerial positions.
