Competence models

The basic elements of competence model are competences bound together due to the Fields that they concern. Each competence is joined with its behavioral indicators, namely examples of behavior observed among people possessing a given competence.  It can be stated that competence model is used to identify knowledge, skills, abilities and personal predispositions, necessary for effective performance of duties on a given position.  

The process of building and implementing competence model is one of the ways of heightening effectiveness and concurrence of the company through conscious management of employees’ potential.

Competence model is an important management tool used by companies:

  • in building employee’s career paths,
  • in appraisals and employee satisfaction survey.
